Tucker Guitar and Bass Features

Our guitar building process is very different.  It all starts with exotic body woods, and ends with very resonant guitars, capable of being loud and articulate unamplified.  This is where getting the Best Tone really begins.

At Tucker Guitars, we are able to select core
lumber from our local Kauai tropical forests.

Only select trees are harvested which produce
bodies with the desired grain structures.  Straight
grain is highly desirable in wood.

Albizzia, for our bodies, is milled into billets
13" x 58" x 2 1/4" thick.

Our two-piece body construction features the
same piece of Albizzia cut and glued together with opposing grain patterns.

This produces a body blank which is perfectly
balanced and joined for strength and harmonics.

Harvested lumber is naturally air dried in a
native environment.  Air drying produces more stable wood than a kiln dried lumber.
Our Patented Spline, shown here, is a new method of joinery and interconnectivity for an electric guitar body.  The maple spline is joined with Albizzia pieces to increase the power of string vibration.
Albizzia is a lightweight wood with the same tensile strength of Engleman Spruce.  Using the body in the picture, which weighs three pounds, we can build guitars under five and a half pounds.

Koa Bass
Tucker Guitars is focused on the wood that is used in our guitars.  A consistent quality of wood results in an uncompromised guitar or bass instrument.  Harvesting and air drying our woods have put us in a unique position as guitar builders.

Koa Guitar
The electric guitar body is critical in shaping the guitar’s tone.  Our Albizzia body and joinery process improves string vibrations.  Full string voicing and sustain are the tone qualities that result from this special quality of wood.
